Tell us about that short-lived fast food job, the camping trip, or the dormitory basement kitchen. Recall the power failure with dinner guests, that fussy child, the elegant restaurant, Grandma’s kitchen, the wedding reception.

Myths
Ancient myths are magical, cautionary tales crowded with heroes, monsters, and fire-spewing gods. But all myths are not ancient; they’re alive and well in every country and town where they nourish, sustain, and occasionally undermine generations of families. Every family has a narrative about a great triumph or failure—sometimes true, often not. In 650 or fewer words, tell us about yours and about the ways it’s altered your life.
Deadline: August 1, 2020
