Join us for an afternoon of compelling, original personal essays that explore the music woven into the fabric of the American experience. From the melodies of our ancestors to the anthems of our protests, Writers Read presents a curated cast of writers sharing the songs that define who they are.

There is no such thing as one "American Song." You can hear our collective soundtrack in city parks, at Southern barbecues, on street corners in New Orleans, and everywhere in between.
