Media Production and Marketing Internships

Enjoy a flexible schedule while earning college credits

Writers Read, a forward-thinking, fast-paced non-profit literary arts organization has a position available for an intern with a strong understanding of the digital media landscape, including various social media platforms.

Our Media Production and Marketing Intern should be an energetic, team-oriented, creative self-starter, with strong critical thinking skills and a collaborative spirit.

As former interns ourselves, we’re eager to coach an intern hoping to gain extensive online experience, professional mentoring and references, and college credits.

We’re a live storytelling platform presenting curated, themed events at City Winery NYC, the Hudson Valley, and beyond. Each semester we invite creative, multi-talented students to join our all-volunteer team to help bridge the gap between live production and digital engagement.

In this role, you’ll be guided by esteemed SUNY New Paltz alumni (founder Ed McCann and Production Director Kevin O’Connor) a social media influencer with over 350k followers (Victoria Mezquita), and seasoned marketing professionals with decades of New York City advertising agency experience..

You’ll be involved in the full lifecycle of a story—from capturing it live on stage to post-producing it for our YouTube channel and podcast, then helping to market it across a diverse social media landscape. This internship offers a unique blend of technical production and strategic digital marketing, providing a 360-degree view of the modern media industry.

NOTE: We offer the flexibility to balance this remote role with your studies and other jobs. You’ll be in charge of tracking your own time and progress, but you won't be on your own—there are plenty of chances for one-on-one mentoring and in-person meetups. We just ask that you’re available for our weekly team check-in on Zoom, every Thursday at 6:00 PM.
