A photograph freezes a moment in time, but some images stay with us long after the moment has passed, evolving as we do, sparking memories and emotions that grow deeper with time. 

We challenged writers to think about a photograph they keep returning to, whether physically in their environments or in their imagination, asking: “is it from a family album, a book, or something you saw in a museum? Were you the one behind the camera or in the frame? What is it about this photo that draws you in? Is it the location?
